Connecting families and youth with peers who understand their journey allows participants to find hope, resilience and the tools they need to navigate challenges, building a strong, informed, and empowered community that uplifts every family on their unique path. Families CARE is dedicated to providing essential support, education and resources to families navigating the challenges of mental health, behavioral health or substance use disorders. Families CARE connects families and youth with certified peer support specialists who have personal lived experience with similar challenges, fostering a compassionate environment where families can share their experiences, receive guidance and develop effective coping strategies. Families CARE provides services by meeting parents and youth where they live, and helping navigate to services that are in their own community. Through our Parent Wellness Café, and Young Adult Wellness Café, we support our participants in building a community of support where they can learn from and support one another. Peer support results in families being empowered to make changes and choices that best meet their family's needs, connection with other's who can support them in difficult times, and skill building that equips families and with practical tools to maintain long-term wellness.
