Kearney Little League

About This Organization

Little League was organized in 1939, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Kearney joined the growing national trend in 1952, when Kearney Little League was awarded its first charter. Little League Baseball has been a continuous part of the youth activities landscape in our community for over 70 years. Youth baseball has thrived in Kearney for many years, and Little League is the lynchpin to the success. All children in Kearney are able to participate, be they early bloomers or late bloomers; tall or short; fast or slow. In spite of the low financial barrier to entry ($70 per player), scholarships are available which helps assure that EVERY child in our community who wants to play baseball CAN play baseball in the Little League program. Donations to this year's "Give Where You Live" campaign will fund the ongoing operation and will be used to benefit local players, and to provide scholarship support for families who would otherwise be unable to afford the cost of registration. Kearney Little League is run by a 29-member all-volunteer board, and there are no paid employees.
