Not only is the mission of the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Reunion to sponsor a 3-day reunion, but it is a safe place for Vietnam Veterans and their loved ones to gather. Allowing these Vietnam Veterans and their families a place to gather on a yearly basis brings not only comradery but healing and a sense of closure. This generation of men and women not only witnessed things they should never have had to, but they also fought a war that was looked at by many as a war we had no business fighting. They endured physical as well as emotional scars, then buried them deep down attempting to live a normal life. There were 58,220 U.S. military fatal casualties in the Vietnam War.
