Kearney Concert Association

About This Organization

Since 1948, the Kearney Concert Association has been an essential central Nebraska resource for premier performances, quality musical entertainment, educational outreach, and cultural enhancement. The Association began as part of Community Concerts. As an affiliate, Kearney enjoyed such artists as the Shaw Chorale, Vienna Boys Choir, Arthur Fiedler with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Fred Waring, Paul Lavalle, Robert Merrill, Norman Luboff Choir, New Christy Minstrels, Roger Wagner Chorale, George Shearing Quintet, the Young Americans, Johnny Mann Singers & Dancers, Glen Miller Orchestra and numerous ballet companies. 2002 marked the end of Community Concerts and the beginning of the Kearney Concert Association. The Association has since incorporated, and become a 501(c)(3) non-profit while expanding programming with such greats as The 5 Browns, Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Harry James Orchestra, Home Free, Boston Brass, and Doc Severinsen and his big band.

Though classical artists remain an integral part of our series, offerings have expanded to include jazz, pop, dance, and musical theater. The concerts continue to be of the highest quality, an essential mix of renowned artists and young performers on their way to prominence.

Thanks to the creation of the Kearney Concert Association Endowment, the Association has been able to offer many educational opportunities for area youth. This includes the annual Youth Concert, workshops & residencies, free memberships for area youth, and occasional side-by-side performances with the Association's guest artists. The KCA Endowment is very proud to have touched the lives of over 8,000 students since its inception. Since 2016, the Endowment has sponsored the Bill Ganz Western Band and the KHS Select Camerata Orchestra, Maniacal4 Youth Concert, Dallas Brass and the KHS Wind Ensemble, Vancouver Chamber Choir workshop with the KHS Chorale, the Nelson Family Youth Concert, WindSync master class at KHS, Roy & Rosemary with the Platte River Children's Chorale, Dallas String Quartet Youth Concert, Annie Moses Band Youth Concert and provides student memberships to 13 area schools yearly.

Your gift will help ensure that this long-standing tradition of educational outreach and premier performances continues in our community.
