The Kearney TeamMates Mentoring Program is a school-based program which matches Kearney Public School students in 6th-12th grades with caring volunteer mentors from the local area. Mentors and mentees meet once a week at school to play a board game, work on a project, go for a walk, or just talk, building a long-lasting friendship along the way. Research shows that students who meet with their TeamMates mentor once a week show academic improvement, have fewer unexcused absences, and have a greater sense of hopefulness.
