This year SVFD is raising money to help replace our current LUCAS 2.2 chest compression device. Our recent inspection has determined this device is reaching its end-of-life. The LUCAS device makes it possible to improve chest compression quality and provide effective, consistent compressions with minimal interruption during patient movement and transportation. In addition, we are also hoping to add the stair chair to our ambulance. A device that permits the safe egress of mobility impaired persons in the event of an emergency or evacuation. Both of these devices will help make our calls much safer and more efficient today as well as years into the future. We are 100 percent volunteer-based. We are the first responders in our area and leaders in our community.
