The Gibbon Beautification Foundation was formed in 2023. Through donations raised from Give Where You Live and other fundraising efforts we have been able to get the ball rolling on various projects. Our first project was providing hanging flower baskets in downtown Gibbon. In 2024 we were able to provide six hanging baskets in the downtown business district. Our plan for 2025 is to expand that from six baskets to twenty baskets. The hanging baskets have an upfront cost for the hardware and also annual costs to fill them with flowers each year. Our other project that was a focus for our foundation in 2024 was providing welcome banners for the three entrances into Gibbon. We are pleased to announce that funds were recently raised allowing us to purchase 60" x 30" welcome banners for all three entrances. The banners should be up by Spring 2025. In 2023, we received $2,196.59 from the Give Where You Live campaign. That was the first fundraiser for our newly formed foundation and without those generous donations it would have been difficult to get any of our projects started. We used every penny donated from Give Where You Live in 2023 and we will make sure to use every penny donated in 2024 to accomplish our mission of redefining Gibbon as an impressive and attractive place to live, work, or visit by involving the entire community in positive beautification. Our goal for the 2024 Give Where You Live campaign is $5,000. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
