For many years, feral cats were fed by individuals who donated their time and their own money to buy food and provide medical care. Now, volunteers with Loper Cats, organized in 2015, have seven feeding stations on the UNK campus and are providing food, and as needed, medical care for feral cats. The goals are to keep the cat population stabilized and maintain the health of the animals. Kittens may be socialized and put up for adoption when possible or returned to their feral colony if socialization is not possible.
