SINCE ORGANIZATION STARTED YOUR GIFTS HAVE SUPPORTED •Awarded over $30,000 in scholarship money to recipients who display characteristics of H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everyday ) and to those planning on a career in the mental health field • Coordinate motivational speakers for local schools, organizations, and events that focus on mental health topics or topics to build resiliency • Attend, promote, and provide informational materials at several community events. • Participate with other local mental health service providers/organizations to ensure available services and information are up-to-date and align with the best practice guidelines. • Provide free Mental Health First Aid training and QPR training sessions. • Assist in funding counseling sessions to students within area schools. • Provide a major portion of funding for the #BeKind program in Kearney Public Schools. The program is designed to promote positive cultural changes throughout the school system.
SHORT-TERM GOALS & PRIORITIES • More "buy-in" and open-minded approach in community • Increase access to mental health resources and services • Get more youth and adults to see counselors and seek help • Create and launch educational programs in schools • Expand scholarship program and create memorial scholarship • Develop, and strengthen community partnerships
